Biomechanics

Rehabilitation center for amputees.

The Biomechanics research Division focuses upon rehabilitation, gait analysis and biomechanics of lower limb amputation including superficial electromyography and advanced static and dynamic analysis for prosthesis adaptation.

Rehabilitation center for upper and lower limb amputees

In the mid-term, the primary aims of this project are to study the gait mechanics in upper limb and lower limb amputation (above knee and below knee amputation), improve the biped balance by changing the position of the center of gravity and enhance prosthetic limb function. Patients for this study are mainly affected by landmineIn the long-term, we aim to treat not only violent amputations but also a large population of diabetic patients, which remains one of the major cause of amputation in Colombia.
